RIBI-T sneak preview

Graham Lawrence and I are converting the RIBI template site from MSSQL to MySQL. Thought I’d share some screenshots from the admin area to whet your appetite!

Incorporating some new features into the design, in addition to modernising things (dumping the old html editor that wasn’t compatible with all browsers, for example).

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice a much requested feature or two!

Creating a Panorama in Photoshop

  

This photo, taken across the bay at Llandudno after sunset, is ‘stitched together’ from several individual pictures. It was one of my first attempts – so don’t be too harsh about the quality of the image! (It could do with some more processing in Photoshop) 

This tutorial, when finished, is going to 

  • give you some photographic tips I learned in the process
  • show you how to use PhotoShop to create the final panoramic image.

A new Rotary template site

conwy-wales.com – a template site to raise money for Rotary clubs
 As with the other Rotary template sites I’ve done, the aim is that anyone with sufficient interest and enthusiasm can construct a site – all the technical work is done already (they just add text and pictures).
I have developed another template site that some clubs may be interested in.
It is a fund-raising site and I anticipate it should raise several thousand pounds for a club each year, in addition to raising the profile of the club within your local business community. It’s designed so that the ‘non-tecchie’ Rotarian can maintain things easily – text and photo’s are uploaded and everything appears ‘in the right place’. 
It’s all done online and each club would have its own independent site, database and domain name. A club would also need to set up PayPal and/or Google Checkout account. Money is paid direct to the club’s account – I don’t have any involvement in it.  Read the rest of this entry »
